Hank Weitenberner

Hank Weitenberner, Bad Axe, MI. Chair of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Weitenberner was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 1995.  Retired Funeral Director. He is the husband of Barb and the couple have four sons, Hank, Rick, Jeff and Tim, and three grandchildren.  Mr. Weitenberner holds an Associate Degree in Banking and Finance from Northwood University and is a graduate of Wayne State University, College of Mortuary Science.   Mr. Weitenberner served ten (10 years) on the Huron County Board of Commissioners, 3 years as Chairman, 4 years as Finance Committee Chair, and 2 years as Personnel Committee Chair.  Mr. Weitenberner served the past 3 years as Chairman on the Huron County Transit Authority Board, 5 years as Chair of the Personnel Committee; A five (5) year member of the Board of Directors of Region 7 Area Agency on Aging, he presently serves as Secretary of the organization.  He has also served as President of the Huron County Council on Aging for the past six (6) years.  Mr. Weitenberner is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, Lansing.  Mr. Weitenberner was the Bad Axe High School Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach for 28 years and is the only Assistant Coach ever elected to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.

Beverly Wiltse, Sebewaing, MI. Ms. Wiltse was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2010 currently serving as Vice Chairperson.  Beverly and son Charles Wiltse business owners of Cedar Tavern and Grill, Lupton, Mi.   Beverly is retired from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville where she was the Secretary to the Pastor and a Ministry Counselor.  Bev has been a Caregiver for over 29 + years.  Member of the Ladies Aid group at her church and School Board member of Unionville/Sebewaing Christ the King.    Beverly holds a degree in Advertising and also earned her Barber and Beautician License in 1973.  Beverly assisted her husband, Scott and his parents in Canada at the Esnagi Lodge Fishing Camp they owned. She was the previous owner of the Sears Catalog Store in Sebewaing, Michigan; managing that store for over twelve (12) years.  She also worked in the newspaper advertising business in Pigeon for four (4) years.  To add to her sales experience, Ms. Wiltse has been selling Mary Kay Products for over 20 years.  Bev’s passion is helping people and being with her husband, children and grandchildren They are the love of her life.
Patty Bocl

Patty Bock, Bad Axe, MI. Secretary of Board of Directors. Ms. Bock was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2018. Patty is a local graduate of Laker Schools, earned Computer Technical Certification through the Control Data Institute of Southfield, MI. Patty is the mother of 2 adult children, Billy and Madison. Patty is a compassionate and caring individual with extensive experience in Customer Service and Health Care. Patty is also a previous business owner in Bad Axe.

Mary Babcock, Port Austin, MI. Ms. Babcock was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2019. Ms. Babcock holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. Ms. Babcock retired from Pigeon Telephone Company as the Chief Accountant/Business Office Manager. Ms. Babcock previously worked at Huron County Community Mental Health Services as the Finance/Contract Manager and as a Certified Public Accountant-Senior Accountant at Bendrey, Brining, & Nartker, PC. Mary serves her community as a member of the Board of Commissioners; elected in 2019; Huron County Planning Commission from 1994-2018; Huron County Economic Development Corporation from 1995-present, Chair in 2005; member of the Huron County Community Foundation.

John Bodis, Bad Axe, MI. Mr. Bodis was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health Board of Directors on February 27, 2019.

Mary Anne Carder, Kinde, MI. Mary Anne Carder, Kinde was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health board on April 2021. Mary Anne is the mother to one and completed the LPN Nursing Program. Mary Anne was a Licensed Practical Nurse, previous small business owner and bartender.

Craig Colton, Bad Axe, Craig Colton, Bad Axe was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health board on August 28, 2019. Craig and his wife Michelle reside in Bad Axe.  Craig has 3 adult step-children.  Craig holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology.  Craig is retired after working 25 years at Huron Behavioral Health as the Children’s Services Supervisor and Outpatient Therapist and 2 years at Professional Counseling Service.  Craig has extensive leadership in Policy Setting and Finance.  Craig was a Long Term Care Program  Supervisor at Youth Alternatives before joining the staff at Huron Behavioral Health.

Karen Currie, Bad Axe, MI.  Karen Currie was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in October 2019. Karen is the mother of 3 children and grandmother to 1.  Karen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education; Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education; and School Administrator Certification.  Karen has been employed by the Huron Intermediate School District her entire career as a Classroom Teacher for 17 years; Teacher Consultant for 7 years; Supervisor of Special Education and Director of General Education for 8 years; and currently is the Director of General Education.  Karen is a Certified Trainer for educators in multiple disciplines. Karen is the Coordinator of HISD Multi-Tiered System of Support; Coordinator for countywide Professional Learning; Coordinator of KRA Assessment and Data secure sits; District lead for Strategic Planning, Continuous Improvement and Accreditation. Karen is a member of many Professional, Education-advocacy and Local collaborative groups.  Karen is responsible for presenting a General Education Fund balanced budget for all of the local school districts within the county with a total budget of $3,000,000.

Bruce Gibb, Port Austin, MI.  Retired.  Mr. Gibb was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 2015.  Previously employed as a Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator at Thumb Tool & Engineering, Bad Axe.

Richard Learman, Bad Axe, MI. Richard Learman, Bad Axe was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health Board of Directors on August 26, 2020.  Richard is married to Sherry and the proud father of 3 children and 7 grandchildren.  Richard’s passion of 30 years was being a cash crop/dairy farmer.   Richard was a Computer/Network Tech for 14 years before retiring!  Richard served 14 years on the School Board and 18 years on the HISD Board.

Rhonda Matelski, Bad Axe, MI.  Rhonda Matelski, Bad Axe was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health Board of Directors on June 24, 2020.  Rhonda and Husband Gregory have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  Rhonda is currently the Oncology/Infusion Department Secretary at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital where she worked for 43 years.

Richard Swartzendruber, Bad Axe, MI. Richard Swartzendruber, Bad Axe was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health Board of Directors on June 24, 2020.  Rich and wife Nancy have 3 adult children.  Rich was an elementary teacher for 27 years and a news editor at the Progress Advance for 5 years.  Rich served as a County Commissioner for 2 years.  Currently serves on the County Planning Commission, Chairman of the Colfax Township Planning Commission and Secretary of the Bad Axe Area Fire Board.
