Hank Weitenberner

Hank Weitenberner, Bad Axe, MI. Chair of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Weitenberner was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 1995.  Retired Funeral Director. He is the husband of Barb and the couple have four sons, Hank, Rick, Jeff and Tim, and three grandchildren.  Mr. Weitenberner holds an Associate Degree in Banking and Finance from Northwood University and is a graduate of Wayne State University, College of Mortuary Science.   Mr. Weitenberner served ten (10 years) on the Huron County Board of Commissioners, 3 years as Chairman, 4 years as Finance Committee Chair, and 2 years as Personnel Committee Chair.  Mr. Weitenberner served the past 3 years as Chairman on the Huron County Transit Authority Board, 5 years as Chair of the Personnel Committee; A five (5) year member of the Board of Directors of Region 7 Area Agency on Aging, he presently serves as Secretary of the organization.  He has also served as President of the Huron County Council on Aging for the past five (5) years.  Mr. Weitenberner is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, Lansing.  Mr. Weitenberner was the Bad Axe High School Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach for 28 years and is the only Assistant Coach ever elected to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.

Beverly Wiltse, Sebewaing, MI. Vice-Chair of Board of Directors, and chairperson of the Personal Committee.  Ms. Wiltse was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 2010. Ms. Wiltse and son Charles Wiltse are new business owners of Cedar Tavern and Grill, Lupton, MI. Ms. Wiltse currently works at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville as the Secretary to the Pastor and a Ministry Counselor. She has been a Caregiver for over 29 + years. Member of the Ladies Aid group at her church and School Board member of Unionville/Sebewaing Christ the King. Ms. Wiltse holds a degree in Advertising and also earned her Barber and Beautician License in 1973.  She assisted her husband and his parents in Canada at the Esnagi Lodge Fishing Camp they owned. She was the previous owner of the Sears Catalog Store in Sebewaing, Michigan; managing that store for over twelve (12) years. She also worked in the newspaper advertising business in Pigeon for four (4) years. To add to her sales experience, Ms. Wiltse has been selling Mary Kay Products for over 20 years. Ms. Wiltse’s passion is helping people and being with her husband, children and grandchildren. They are the love of her life.
Patty Bocl

Patty Bock, Bad Axe, MI. Secretary of Board of Directors. Ms. Bock was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2018. Patty is a local graduate of Laker Schools, earned Computer Technical Certification through the Control Data Institute of Southfield, MI. Patty is the mother of 2 adult children, Billy and Madison. Patty is a compassionate and caring individual with extensive experience in Customer Service and Health Care. Patty is also a previous business owner in Bad Axe.

Mary Babcock, Port Austin, MI. Ms. Babcock was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2019. Ms. Babcock holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. Ms. Babcock retired from Pigeon Telephone Company as the Chief Accountant/Business Office Manager. Ms. Babcock previously worked at Huron County Community Mental Health Services as the Finance/Contract Manager and as a Certified Public Accountant-Senior Accountant at Bendrey, Brining, & Nartker, PC. Mary serves her community as a member of the Board of Commissioners; elected in 2019; Huron County Planning Commission from 1994-2018; Huron County Economic Development Corporation from 1995-present, Chair in 2005; member of the Huron County Community Foundation.

John Bodis, Bad Axe, MI. Mr. Bodis was appointed to the Huron Behavioral Health Board of Directors in 2019.

Bruce Gibb

Bruce Gibb, Port Austin, MI.  Retired.  Mr. Gibb was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 2015.  Previously employed as a Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator at Thumb Tool & Engineering, Bad Axe.
Mary Motz

Mary Motz, Pigeon, MI.  Ms. Motz was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 2017.  Ms. Motz holds a Bachelor Degree from Ferris State University and is retired from the Huron Area Technical Center after 27 years of teaching cosmetology. Mary and her husband Jay have six children. Mary is an active member of Michigan Skills USA for 22 years and served as President for one year. Mary is also a very active member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, Lay Speaker, Teacher, and Leadership Council.
Dean Smith

J. Dean Smith, Bay Port, MI. Chair of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Smith was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 1989. He holds a BA in Agricultural Sciences from Michigan State University. Dean is the husband of Nancy and the father of Alicia and Melissa who attend the USA and Laker High Schools. Mr. Smith is in partnership with his family with several businesses including Smith Family Farms. Dean also owns and operates his own businesses which include Commercial Investments and real estate. Mr. Smith formally served as the Huron County Drain Commissioner and host of the WNEM-TV5 Farm and Garden Show. He currently serves on the Church Finance Committee; member of Michigan Corn Growers Association; member of the Cooperative Elevator; and Farm Bureau member.
Robert Witherspoon

Robert Witherspoon, Port Hope, MI. Retired Dairy and Crop Farmer.  Mr. Witherspoon was appointed to HBH Board of Directors in 1990.  Mr. Witherspoon served on the County Board of Commissioners for four (4) years the first year as chairman. He also served as chairperson of finance, personnel, and legislative committees.  He served as Township Clerk, Supervisor, and twenty five (25) years as the Tax Assessor.  Mr. Witherspoon is very active in his church community having served as the Church Treasurer for fourteen (14) years; served as Chairman of the congregation for 4 years, and served on the School Board for St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope.  He is a lifelong member of the Huron County Farm Bureau and served on the Board of Directors for 6 Years.

Dawn Young, Port Austin, MI. Dawn was appointed to the HBH Board of Directors in 2019. Dawn is a graduate of Ferris State University, Honors Program. Furthering her education at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley College of Law graduating Cum Laude. Dawn is currently a managing partner of Dawn Young Law PLLC. Dawn was previously a Social Security Disability Attorney for the Sam Bernstein Law Firm. Dawn serves as President of Families Against Narcotics. She is the attorney for Fiddler’s Green Foundation, Independent Living Facility for U.S. Veterans. Dawn is a member of the Huron County Bar Association and member of the State Bar of Michigan. Dawn serves as defense counsel for Thumb Regional Drug Treatment Court.
